From literatures, it is observed that there are still many challenges to be tackled in e-commerce applications. One of the challenges in e-commerce especially in online catering services is lack of integration, flexibility and information sharing between three major entities involved which are customer, caterer and supplier. Hence, this study intends to close the gaps that exist between these three entities which prevent them to move forward

    Relationships of socioeconomic level with eating behavior of traditional food among adolescents.

    Traditional food is never just about eating and fulfilling our biological needs; nevertheless it preserves the culture and tradition properties of a nation. Traditional food is known as representation of identity and embraces the components of cultural and heritage of a particular group of people in particular region. Malaysia has created distinctively traditional food based on the multi-ethnicity roots that lives together throughout the years such as Malay, Chinese and Indian communities. Presently, in this new and modern environment with economic prosperity of the country, young generation seems unappreciated the traditional food. They had been showered with Western fast food and other foreign foods, whereby traditional food is not their only option. Previous studies found socioeconomic level effects the eating behavior of traditional food, especially in adolescents. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of socioeconomic level on adolescents’ eating behavior of traditional food in Malaysia situation by implementing Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as a background theory. Self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 655 secondary school students by using cluster sampling technique. Multiple linear regression (MLR) results indicated adolescents belong to lower (B = 0.28) and middle (B = 0.46) socioeconomic level family have the capability to control their intention to eat traditional food; whereas adolescents came from high socioeconomic level proved to rely on their attitudes towards traditional food (B = 0.34) to drive the intention to eat traditional food

    Relationship between parental emotional styles and family values to anxiety level among primary school children

    Introduction: Childhood anxiety is one of the common mental health problems in children. Untreated childhood anxiety will lead to a higher risk of developing mental health problems in adulthood. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between parental emotional styles and family values to anxiety level among primary school children. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a selected primary school in Kelantan, Malaysia. A set of questionnaires consisted of the Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale–Parents’ Report (RCADS-P 25), the Parental Emotional Style Questionnaire (PESQ), and the Asian Family Characteristics Scale (AFCS) was used for assessing anxiety, parental emotional styles, and family values, respectively. Data were collected via an online survey using Google Form, and were analysed using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) to determine the factors associated with childhood anxiety. The significance value was set at p < 0.05. Results: A total of 150 parents of primary school children from the selected school was involved in this study. The majority of respondents were females (82.0%), married (94.7%), hold a degree (66.7%), and were working in the government sector (60.0%). Most of the respondents’ child were twelve years old (20.7%) and males (62%). Based on the MLR, emotional dismissing parental style (p = 0.025) and family values (p = 0.016) were significantly associated with anxiety in these children. Conclusion: Emotional dismissing parental style and family values were significant predictors of anxiety in primary school children. Future intervention research on childhood anxiety is needed

    An effective salp swarm based MPPT for photovoltaic systems under dynamic and partial shading conditions

    This study proposes a duty cycle-based direct search method that capitalizes on a bioinspired optimization algorithm known as the salp swarm algorithm (SSA). The goal is to improve the tracking capability of the maximum power point (MPP) controller for optimum power extraction from a photovoltaic system under dynamic environmental conditions. The performance of the proposed SSA is tested under a transition between uniform irradiances and a transition between partial shading (PS) conditions with a focus on convergence speed, fast and accurate tracking, reduce high initial exploration oscillation, and low steady-state oscillation at MPP. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed SSA algorithm in terms of tracking performance. The performance of the SSA method is better than the conventional (hill-climbing) and among other popular metaheuristic methods. Further validation of the SSA performance is conducted via experimental studies involving a DC-DC buck-boost converter driven by TMS320F28335 DSP on the Texas Instruments Experimenter Kit platform. Hardware results show that the proposed SSA method aligns with the simulation in terms of fast-tracking, convergence speed, and satisfactory accuracy under PS and dynamic conditions. The proposed SSA method tracks maximum power with high efficiency through its superficial structures and concepts, as well as its easy implementation. Moreover, the SSA maintains a steady-state oscillation at a minimum level to improve the overall energy yield. It thus compensates for the shortcomings of other existing methods

    Scenario-based investigation on the effect of partial shading condition patterns for different static solar photovoltaic array configurations

    This paper presents an in-depth analysis and investigation on the performance of static photovoltaic (PV) array configurations subjected to various partial shading conditions (PSCs). Under PSCs, the electrical characteristics of the PV modules are critically monitored and reasons for their behavioral changes are highlighted. By doing so, this study aims to improve the efficiency of PV systems by minimizing mismatch losses and determining the optimum array configuration which is characterized by the highest maximum power and lowest relative losses under PSCs. Besides, this study complements and carries forward the previous studies through the detailed analysis of each configuration subjected to various practically probable PSCs. Three different PV array sizes ( 5×4 , 5×5 , and 3×10 ) are used to analyze the results and performance under considered shading scenarios. MATLAB/Simulink platform is used to model and simulate the PV array using the single diode (5-parameters) model. In-depth analysis of current flow across cross-ties and bypass diodes activation shows that the diagonal shading pattern leads to lower power loss (PL). Besides, the Total Cross-Tied (TCT) configuration demonstrates superior performance under most of the PSCs compared to other configurations. These results provide valuable information about the performance of PV array which may lead to better estimation and prediction of global maximum power (GMP) generation of a PV system

    The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on dengue cases in Malaysia

    BackgroundGlobally, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the transmission dynamics and distribution of dengue. Therefore, this study aims to describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the geographic and demographic distribution of dengue incidence in Malaysia.MethodsThis study analyzed dengue cases from January 2014 to December 2021 and COVID-19 confirmed cases from January 2020 to December 2021 which was divided into the pre (2014 to 2019) and during COVID-19 pandemic (2020 to 2021) phases. The average annual dengue case incidence for geographical and demographic subgroups were calculated and compared between the pre and during the COVID-19 pandemic phases. In addition, Spearman rank correlation was performed to determine the correlation between weekly dengue and COVID-19 cases during the COVID-19 pandemic phase.ResultsDengue trends in Malaysia showed a 4-year cyclical trend with dengue case incidence peaking in 2015 and 2019 and subsequently decreasing in the following years. Reductions of 44.0% in average dengue cases during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the pre-pandemic phase was observed at the national level. Higher dengue cases were reported among males, individuals aged 20–34 years, and Malaysians across both phases. Weekly dengue cases were significantly correlated (ρ = −0.901) with COVID-19 cases during the COVID-19 pandemic.ConclusionThere was a reduction in dengue incidence during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the pre-pandemic phase. Significant reductions were observed across all demographic groups except for the older population (&gt;75 years) across the two phases

Three main phases are deployed including the extraction of the cerebral tissue, the detection of abnormal block and the mechanism of fine-tuning and finally the detection of abnormal slice according to the detected abnormal blocks. Through experimental tests, progress made by the suggested means is assessed and verified. As a result, in terms of qualitative assessment, it is found that the performance of proposed method is satisfactory and may contribute to the development of reliable MRI brain tumour diagnosis and treatments
